About Anna Claire Taylor, MD

Undergrad: University of Texas at Austin

Career goals: I'm pretty open because I love everything (classic Med Peds) but especially interested in dual-hospitalist, Med-Peds primary care or possibly hematology/ oncology!

Favorite things about Lexington so far: I’ve really enjoyed exploring the Lexington Farmers Market, discovering the cute bakeries and coffee shops, and taking in the beautiful greenery and rolling hills. I'm excited to be close to places like Mammoth Cave National Park, Red River Gorge, and Cumberland Falls which I hope to explore soon! Everyone has been so welcoming, and I can't wait to experience my first horse race at Keeneland this fall! I also have family in Oxford, Mississippi, so I've always loved the atmosphere of southern college towns with great sports, unique character, and plenty to do!

Learner Summary

Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?

As a Texas girl who had never left the state for school or training, choosing to go out of state was a big step for me. From the moment I interviewed, the warmth and authenticity of the people made me feel at home. I was especially impressed by how many Med-Peds faculty members chose to stay at UK after training, which speaks volumes about the program's culture and mentorship. I knew it would be an outstanding place to train, and I was excited about the idea of living in Lexington (hello seasons!)

What are your hobbies?

tennis, guitar, gardening, exploring coffee shops and restaurants (I love every cuisine!), reading, watching college sports (hook 'em horns!), traveling, visiting national parks, spending time with family and friends
