AMIA Fellowship Match Information

Welcome

The University of Kentucky Clinical Informatics Fellowship is an ACGME-accredited, two-year multidisciplinary program that prepares physicians to lead and innovate in health information technology. Based at UK Hospital and housed within the Department of Medicine, the fellowship combines clinical practice, informatics theory, applied technology, and hands-on implementation. Fellows learn to analyze complex health care systems and clinical workflows, use data to identify opportunities for improvement, design and implement technology-enabled solutions, and evaluate their impact on patient care, safety, quality, and equity. Training is highly collaborative, with direct exposure to UK HealthCare’s clinical, operational, and technology leaders, including the CMIO, Associate CMIOs, CDO, CISO, CNIO, CTO, IT Medical Directors, physician builders, informaticists, analytics teams, and institutional governance groups, as well as expertise across the University of Kentucky in artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, data science, and health care analytics. Fellows progressively assume greater responsibility for informatics initiatives and receive structured Epic training, including opportunities to pursue Physician Builder credentials and Epic Cosmos badges, while developing the skills needed to become effective physician informaticians and health system leaders.
