Welcome from the Chair of Surgery
It is a great honor and privilege to serve as chair of the UK College of Medicine Department of Surgery. We are proud to work in Kentucky’s No. 1 ranked hospital, UK HealthCare’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital, with several of our surgical services ranked nationally and rated as high performing by U.S. News and World Report. In research, the department of surgery ranks among the top academic institutions for funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Our faculty are respected leaders on the national and international stage for their contributions to the advancement of clinical care, surgical education, research, and innovations in medical technology. Delivering the best possible patient care is the department of surgery’s foremost priority and influences our every endeavor.
