Gordon L. Hyde Lectureship in Vascular Surgery

UK's divisions of vascular and endovascular surgery and general surgery established the Gordon L. Hyde Lectureship in Vascular Surgery as a tribute to the surgeon who founded the specialty at the UK Chandler Medical Center.

Dr. Hyde admitted his first patient in July of 1962. When he and supporters established the lectureship, it was meant to foster resident and graduate education. Though he has enjoyed vascular surgery, his primary interest has always been to education.

Richard W. Schwartz, MD, Memorial Lecture and Surgical Symposium

The late Dr. Richard Schwartz' passion and excellence in gastrointestinal surgery, surgical education and the development of physician leaders were well-known before his untimely death in 2010. His influence touched all who had the honor of working alongside him. To honor his legacy, the UK College of Medicine Department of Surgery established the annual Richard W.
