Hand Surgery Fellowship
The hand surgery fellowship at the University of Kentucky is a one-year training program sponsored jointly by the University’s plastic surgery and orthopedic surgery and sports medicine departments. It accepts one applicant each year.
Our jointly sponsored fellowship provides a vast training experience where the fellow will divide their time equally between the surgical disciplines across multiple sites, including the UK HealthCare hospitals and Hand Clinic, the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and the Lexington VA Hospital. We have a comprehensive program that will prepare fellows for the attainment of board certification in hand surgery. All qualified applicants will be considered.
Mission
The mission of the University of Kentucky Hand Surgery Fellowship is to optimally prepare surgeons-in-training to render contemporary, compassionate and fiscally-responsible care for all pathological conditions afflicting the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, while inspiring the fellow to give back to the specialty through engagement in scientific inquiry and practice as a life-long learner and teacher.
