Applying to the Program

The program accepts one single-year hand surgery fellow per year. The fellow will spend an equal amount of time between plastic and orthopedic surgery. Individuals are required to be board eligible in either plastic surgery, orthopedic surgery, or general surgery. Selection is made 12 months prior to commencement of fellowship. The fellowship program timeline is considered off-cycle (academic year runs August 1 through July 31).
To apply, submit an application through the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and register for the match process through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP Program Code # 1848363F0).
Required elements for an application include the following:
  • Application from the ASSH
  • Personal statement/letter of intent
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Three letters of recommendation (signed on official letterhead)
  • Three exam score documents
  • Personal photo

Applications will not be considered until they are complete.
