Welcome to the College of Medicine Division of Nephrology, Bone, and Mineral Metabolism

The College of Medicine Division of Nephrology, Bone, and Mineral Metabolism is committed to providing excellent patient care, research, education, and prevention of renal and bone diseases. We are committed to the community and patient education as well as improving the quality of life of our patients.

Our special focus is to engage in research and education addressing renal and bone diseases. Education of future specialists and researchers is coequal with our mission to provide excellent clinical care so that future generations will enjoy better health and opportunities for longer and more productive lives.

Clinical and Research Excellence

The College of Medicine Division of Nephrology, Bone, and Mineral Metabolism encompasses faculty who have a wide range of clinical and research interests. We provide care in all aspects of clinical nephrology, transplantation, hypertension, interventional nephrology, osteoporosis, and other metabolic bone diseases. In addition, we serve as a national and international reference for bone histomorphometric analyses.

Nephrology Fellowship

Our nephrology fellowship program offers graduate medical education training for fellows interested in both clinical practice and academic medicine. The objective of the training is to provide fellows with a comprehensive experience in clinical nephrology to enable them, at the end of the training, to approach any renal problem with confidence. We continue to innovate by providing combined nephrology critical care training and integrating point-of-care ultrasound use into training. We are proud to announce that our fellowship program currently has a 100-percent 10-year pass rate in the American Board of Internal Medicine subspecialty board.
