The IRC is a pilot program for new collaborations of faculty from at least two different colleges to simulate interprofessional collaboration.
Multidisciplinary Value Program (MVP)
This funding mechanism provides new opportunities and resources to support innovative, collaborative research projects with investigator initiated clinical studies that are developed by multi-disciplinary teams, inclusive of colleges and centers across UK.
Seeding Partnerships for International Research Engagement (UKinSPIRE)
UKinSPIRE is designed to stimulate high-impact research projects linking UK faculty and international collaborators.
UK Center For Appalachian Research In Environmental Sciences (UK-CARES)
The UK-CARES Pilot Program is designed to enhance the interactions and expand the critical mass of investigators and citizen scientists with expertise and experience in transdisciplinary, translational environmental health research on the UK campus and in Appalachian communities.
Research Priority Areas
Established in 2018, the following eight areas are designated Research Priority Areas (RPAs)
- Cancer
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Diabetes & obesity
- Energy, materials science
- Neuroscience
- Substance use disorders
- Uniting communities (UNITE).
The eight specific RPAs provide different opportunities for pilot funding.
Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS)
CCTS Pilot Funding and Open Requests for Applications (RFAs)
The CCTS has a rolling pilot program for researchers at UKY with no deadline as well as grants with specific targets though open Requests for Application (RFAs).
The UK CCTS pilot funding program aims to catalyze collaborative, translational research. In partnership with investigators at all career stages, community and government organizations, disease-specific centers at UK, and academic medical centers around the country, CCTS has provided more than 300 awards totaling $4 million, which have garnered $84.6 million in extramural funding, a return on investment of 20 to 1.
