Focus on clinical research and patient education
The University of Kentucky Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism offers diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, pituitary disease, and other endocrine disorders. Major areas of interest include the management of glucose, lipids, pituitary, and thyroid disorders. Treatment strategies are enhanced by our focus on clinical research and the utilization of recent advances in molecular medicine, as well as strong emphasis on patient education.
Our Mission
Our tripartite mission is to
- provide the highest standards of clinical healthcare to improve the lives of our patients with endocrine disorders
- develop and test novel treatments for Endocrine disorders through cutting-edge basic, translational and clinical research programs
- train the next generation of clinicians and scientists to address healthcare needs in the field of Endocrinology
Awards and Achievements
- Awarded a prestigious Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) grant, totaling $11 million dollars over the course of 5 years
- Awarded "High Performing Hospital for Diabetes" by the US News & World Report for 2025-2026
