Asthma, Allergy, and Sinus Clinical Research
Our site offers approximately 3,500 square feet of dedicated exam room space to perform a patient history and physical exams. We have two spirometry stations and there is a separate room where allergy testing and exhaled nitric oxide can be performed. In this same space, a nebulizer machine for albuterol is available for patients who need treatment. We also have a -25 freezer and centrifuge for lab processing.
Our patient population consists of both adult and pediatric patients with allergic disease. We are a referral clinic for local allergists who have complex patients. We have over 1,000 asthmatics and over 4,500 allergy patients in our clinic. In addition, to our clinic, we have the opportunity to recruit from other areas of the university such as family medicine, student health, and within the local community.
We have a special interest in asthma care, including numerous clinical trials, and we are currently participating in NIH research as co-investigator in "The Role of TRPV1 in Asthma Exacerbation."
