The College of Medicine Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is committed to achieving the highest standards in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease. Through our dedication to scholarly pursuits, we aim to improve the future of heart health across Kentucky and beyond. To this end, we provide clinical services based on the latest evidence and technology, by advancing knowledge through research and by educating those in training, in practice, and our patients.
Our faculty includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians, physician’s assistants, nurses, pharmacists, technologists, and scientists who offer expertise in all disciplines of adult cardiovascular medicine including interventional and structural cardiology, vascular medicine, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, infiltrative and other cardiomyopathies, critical care cardiology and cardiac shock, pulmonary hypertension, congenital heart disease, arrhythmia management including pacemaker and other implanted electronic device therapies, cardio-oncology, women’s heart health and cardio-obstetrics, and advanced cardiovascular imaging using echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, PET/CT and cardiovascular magnetic resonance.
The division of cardiovascular medicine is housed within the Linda and Jack Gill Heart and Vascular Institute. Founded in 1997, the Gill Heart Institute’s state-of-the-art facilities enable us to set the standard in delivering the most advanced patient care.
