The College of Medicine Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is committed to achieving the utmost standards in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease. Through our dedication to scholarly pursuits, we aim to improve the future of heart health across Kentucky and beyond. To this end, we provide clinical services based on the latest evidence and technology, by advancing knowledge through research and by educating those in training, in practice, and our patients.
Our faculty includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians and scientists who draw from disciplines of adult cardiovascular medicine, cardiac and vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, heart failure, imaging, and electrophysiology.
The division of cardiovascular medicine is housed within the Linda and Jack Gill Heart and Vascular Institute. Founded in 1997, the Gill Heart Institute’s state-of-the-art facilities enable us to set the standard in delivering the most advanced patient care. Discoveries made by our physicians and scientists have provided new diagnostic tools, therapies, and better understanding of cardiovascular disease. We maintain a strong, consistent record of publications in the nation’s foremost peer-reviewed medical journals. We are also committed to educating physicians and scientists in training and disseminating knowledge to local communities about advances and emerging issues in cardiovascular disease.
