IPAC Department

The mission of the UK HealthCare's Infection Prevention and Control program (IPAC) is to promote a safe care environment for every patient, health care worker, and visitor by preventing the transmission of infectious agents. This is accomplished through the use of MDRO and infection surveillance, data collection and analysis, education, adherence to regulatory standards, dissemination and implementation of best practices, collaboration with other departments, and innovation. The multidisciplinary team consists of physicians, nurses, public health specialists, and a data analyst/reporting specialist.

The vision of the UK HealthCare IPAC program is to be recognized as the infection control leader for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and to be recognized nationally in preventing the transmission of infectious agents.
