All applicants interested in general cardiovascular medicine fellowship training at the University of Kentucky will be considered for one of the seven available first-year positions available. We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) and accept applications ONLY through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

The ERAS Common Application Form includes:

Medical School Transcript
USMLE 1, 2, 3 Transcripts
1 Letter from Internal Medicine Residency Program Director
2-3 Additional Letters of Recommendation
ECFMG Status Report, if applicable

For international medical graduates (IMG), it is important to note that completion of an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency training program and ABIM board-eligibility in internal medicine are required for ABIM board-eligibility and certification in cardiovascular disease.

Due to the large volume of applications, we start our review process as soon as these are available. We pull new applications on a weekly basis and offer rolling invitations. Once our interview slots have been filled, rejection letters will be sent out. Applicants who do not receive rejection letters are considered waitlisted. Our interview dates span across August and September.
