In this “UK at the Half,” University of Kentucky HealthCare medical pancreatologist Darwin Conwell, MD, discusses the importance of research in a doctor’s training as well one of his major ongoing research projects.

A proven physician, educator and mentor, Conwell joined the UK College of Medicine last year as the Jack M. Gill Endowed Chair in Internal Medicine. His research on the possible link between diabetes and pancreatic cancer supports UK’s Diabetes and Obesity Research Priority Area, one of seven areas in this initiative that provides internal funding to bolster research infrastructure and enable experts working across centers and colleges boundaries to collaboratively tackle complex projects with direct impact on Kentuckians.

“UK at the Half” airs during halftime of each UK football and basketball game broadcast on radio and is hosted by UK Public Relations and Marketing. To hear the “UK at the Half” interview, click here.
