No. The only time family members might be contacted is if there is an emergency and they are listed as emergency contacts.
How can I get to the clinic if I don’t have transportation?
The HIV care coordinators work with our patients in identifying transportation resources to help them keep their medical appointments:
- Many Medicaid recipients are able to receive transportation through regional Medicaid transportation companies.
- The Red Cross Wheels program provides transportation for disabled patients who are unable to ride Lexington city buses.
- HIV care coordinators can provide bus vouchers and gas cards to eligible patients once they come to their appointment. This helps to offset the cost of transportation to and from the appointment.
How can I find more information about HIV?
The care coordinators can provide you with educational materials if requested regarding a variety of health topics. We also recommend visiting Act Against AIDS website for further information.
