Fellowship

1 year advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship in cardiovascular MRI and CT.

Eligibility

Candidates will have successfully completed an ACGME accredited general cardiology fellowship (preferred, and encouraged to have COCATS4 level 2 echo experience), or internal medicine residency. No prior CMR or CCT experience is required. We are able to accommodate J-visa status.  Faculty: Our team includes cardiologists (Dr. Steve Leung, Dr. Vincent Sorrell, Dr. Vedant Gupta, Dr. Amit Arbune, Dr. Talal Alnabelsi), pediatric cardiologist (Dr. Attila Ahmad, Dr. Preeti Ramachandran), radiologists (Dr. Michael Brooks, Dr. Liisa Bergmann, Stephen Hobbs, Dr. Conor Lowry) and physicists (Dr. David Powell, Dr. Jie Zhang).

Education

The fellow will have an active role in cardiology fellowship and radiology resident education. Weekly didactic teaching sessions with the cardiology fellowship provide a comprehensive review of multimodality cardiac imaging and rotate through CMR, CCT, (with options to gain additional experience in Echo). Imaging physics will be taught via monthly didactics and during daily readouts.

Facility

We have an active cardiovascular imaging program with more than 2000 CCT and CMR studies annually. CCT studies are performed on a Siemens Somatom Force scanner. CMR studies are performed on Siemens Aera 1.5 and Skyra Fit 3.0T. Lexington is a beautiful university city with a thriving downtown within minutes of Bluegrass farmlands.
