Ritu Chakravarti, PhD, associate professor in the division of rheumatology, has been selected as the award coordinator (3-year term) for the Autumn Immunology Conference (AIC). The award coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the AIC award program, ensuring transparent selection processes, effective communication, and successful recognition of outstanding scientific contributions.
In this position, Dr. Chakravarti will play a central role in strengthening the scientific quality and visibility of the AIC by recognizing outstanding immunology research across career stages, supporting and motivating trainees and early-career investigators, ensuring transparency, fairness, and academic rigor in award selection, and enhancing the prestige and scientific impact of AIC within the immunology community
This leadership position is elected by the AIC Executive Committee. Candidates are considered based on their active membership status, regular attendance and engagement with the AIC, previous service and participation within the organization, and expertise in immunology research. The final selection is determined by a vote from the Executive Committee members.
