Congratulations to Preet Datta, PA-C, APP Pulmonary Inpatient Supervisor, on her induction into the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM), which is part of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
Becoming an FCCM recognizes sustained contributions to the field of critical care, including clinical excellence, leadership, education, and scholarly work. In simple terms, it’s a national-level honor that acknowledges ongoing commitment to improving care for critically ill patients and advancing the specialty.
Earning this distinction requires several years of clinical experience in critical care, along with demonstrated involvement beyond direct patient care. This typically includes activities such as teaching, mentorship, quality improvement efforts, research, leadership roles, and contributions to professional organizations. Candidates must also undergo a formal application and review process. Preet is one of 33 PAs nationally and internationally to receive this designation.
“This recognition highlights the work being done within UK’s PCCSM division and reflects positively on the division at a national level,” says Preet. “It provides an opportunity to represent UK through continued involvement in conferences, committees, education, and collaboration with other leaders in critical care across the country. I am honored to be one of the first PAs in Kentucky, at UK, and within my division to have earned this distinction.”
