The University of Kentucky College of Medicine's Faculty of Color Network (FCN) is hosting its first gala on Oct. 18. The College is spearheading the event, with the theme, “Undeniable, Uncompromising, Unstoppable: Celebrating Diversity in Medicine and the Community.” The recently established FCN is committed to scholarship and professional development, community engagement and advocacy.

The black-tie event will honor pioneering physician, Dr. Marian A. Swope, and an emerging UK scholar, Jean Branttie. The proceeds from the event will benefit the UK Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives and The Nest Center for Women, Children and Families.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at The Campbell House. Festivities include a formal dinner, live entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets are $80 per person and $130 per couple, and are currently on sale at the University Ticket Office in the Gatton Student Center, or online here.
