Physicians
Attendings and Residents Make the Clinic Possible
Though our CCRU Clinic is student-run, we require and rely on the generosity of attendings and residents to make clinic nights possible. Attending physicians/preceptors are asked to arrive at 6 p.m. and must sign in upon arrival. During the clinic shift, physicians hear presentations from the medical students who have interviewed the patients beforehand, discuss the case, and return to the exam space with the student to see the patient and develop a treatment plan. They provide available in-clinic treatments, write prescriptions, and suggest referrals as necessary. The attending must sign off on all notes, including those written by a resident physician. Our goal is to provide a learning environment for the students while at the same time providing quality patient care for our patients. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact our physician liaison, Coby Bessinger (clbe251@uky.edu).
Physicians who are interested in volunteering must have an active Kentucky Medical License and be UK College of Medicine-appointed faculty. For faculty appointment questions, please contact Terin McAllister at Terin.McAllister@uky.edu.
