Northern Kentucky

Northern Kentucky (NKY), located just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, is where small-town warmth and hospitality go hand-in-hand with big-city amenities and attractions.

Arts, sports, and culture are within a short drive. Whether you are passionate about professional sports, an active art scene, or like to experience new restaurants, NKY has an expansive list of offerings. In fact, the region is known for the largest Oktoberfest celebration outside of Germany. Minutes away from downtown Cincinnati, NKY is also home to an international airport with the region’s most flights and lowest fares.

Northern Kentucky University

Founded in 1968, Northern Kentucky University (NKU) is a growing metropolitan university of more than 14,000 students served by over 2,000 faculty and staff on a thriving suburban campus near Cincinnati. Students have the opportunity to choose from nearly 100 bachelor’s degrees, 24 graduate programs, or law school. For nine years in a row, NKU has been named one of America’s Best Colleges by Forbes.

The university thrives by doing things differently. No greater opportunity exists to change and improve lives than addressing population health/challenges. It is clear that what has worked in the past does not always work in today’s increasingly complex society. In partnership with St. Elizabeth Healthcare and the UK College of Medicine, NKU is taking on the biggest, most important health challenges facing Kentucky’s communities. Together these institutions are transforming health science education to better equip, empower, and most importantly, inspire health care workers of tomorrow.
