The Academy of Clinical Educators is an interdisciplinary community of dedicated faculty who collaborate to strengthen their own teaching and to promote educational excellence throughout our medical community.
Membership
Membership in the Academy recognizes highly accomplished educational leaders, who serve as educational resources to colleagues and UK College of Medicine leadership
Membership recognizes highly accomplished educational leaders, who colleagues and program leaders can consult for advice on educational issues. Academy members will collaborate to ensure continued excellence for the educational mission of the UK College of Medicine.
Mission
The mission of the Academy is to enhance the medical education community in the College of Medicine and promote teaching excellence. The specific goals include:
- Create a supportive community of medical educators
- Foster teaching careers in medicine and science
- Stimulate the creation and implementation of innovative approaches to teaching and assessment
As a faculty member in the UK College of Medicine, we invite you to join a faculty development program.
Classroom Teaching Development Program
If you have participated in faculty development opportunities and made substantial educational contributions, apply for the Academy of Medical Educator Award. The Academy will release applications at the end of the academic year and give awards during the College of Medicine Convocation.
If you have received an Academy of Medical Educator Award, consider sharing your educational expertise with others by joining the Academy of Medical Educators.
If you are looking to develop faculty members in your department, division or program, we can help clarify your needs and identify faculty members who can provide the appropriate faculty development for your group.
