At the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, our mission and vision guide everything we do — from educating students to improving the health of our Commonwealth.
Our mission is to promote an environment that fosters excellence in education, access to high-quality health care, and transformative research to improve the health and wellness of Kentuckians and beyond. Our vision is to be a thriving community where members are empowered to reach their full potential—improving health, driving discovery, and expanding opportunity for all.
These values are more than words. They shape our 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, which outlines key goals across three pillars:
- Putting Learners First
- Leading Through Research Discovery
- Taking Care of Our People and Partners.
Through this plan, we are expanding medical student enrollment, investing in cutting-edge educational technology, strengthening research infrastructure, enhancing well-being, and ensuring continuous accreditation. We’re also supporting pathways into medicine and science that reflect our deep commitment to Kentucky’s communities.
By continuously reviewing what we do and how we do it, we ensure that our mission stays more than words and that our strategic plan leads to meaningful, sustained action.
