Q: What do you do clinically?
A: I am a Surgical Oncologist specializing in breast, skin and soft tissue cancers.
Q: What is one thing you love about your clinical specialty?
A: Teamwork. I love being part of a multidisciplinary team. We come up with an individualized plan for each patient.
Q: What is one thing you love about being an ADD?
A: I love helping medical students find their perfect program. It challenges them to dig deep and find out what is important to them for their future.
Q: What is something you do outside of work to help you recharge?
A: Peloton...I love Cody Rigsby. And spending time with my family (husband Tim and son Henry).
Q: Any advice for students who might be interested in your specialty?
A: General surgery is a wonderful field that can take you in so many directions. There is a place for everyone in GS.
Q: How did you choose your specialty?
A: My specialty was easy...I have wanted to be a surgeon since I was 10. Subspecialty happened during third year. I saw how multidisciplinary care really makes a difference for patients. I saw how fulfilling this could be for me. I really like that I am able to walk someone through a very difficult time in their life and then am able to follow them for years after.
