The University of Kentucky College of Medicine continues to grow, now encompassing 2,809 total faculty members across our Lexington, Morehead, Bowling Green, and Northern Kentucky campuses. We recognize that supporting our faculty is essential to achieving our educational, research, and service missions; fostering professional fulfillment; and sustaining a culture of excellence. This commitment reflects the core principles of LCME Standard 4: Faculty Preparation, Development, and Vitality

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development is dedicated to empowering faculty success through a comprehensive range of programs and resources, including:

  • Formal faculty onboarding to ensure a strong start at the UK College of Medicine
  • Individual consultations focused on promotion readiness, dossier review, and career development
  • Continuing Professional Development Series sessions that promote lifelong learning and growth
  • Leadership development programs, including the College of Medicine Leadership Academy

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development also highlights faculty achievements through regular reports and celebrations. Between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, our faculty served as principal investigators or co-investigators on more than 3,500 grants and published approximately 1,300 peer-reviewed journal articles. These accomplishments — along with numerous awards and honors — are recognized and celebrated throughout the year.
