Vascular and Interventional Radiology
The division of vascular and interventional radiology is a group of dedicated interventionalists who specialize in using imaging modalities to guide minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Disease expertise includes uterine fibroids, vascular anomalies, treatment of cancer (bland embolization, chemoembolization, 90Y radioembolization as well as microwave ablation and cryoablation), and biliary and urinary tract interventions. The division utilizes fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT routinely to accomplish these tasks.
The vascular and interventional radiologists at the University of Kentucky are recognized experts in interventional radiology with an active consultation service. They participate in multidisciplinary clinics and have their own clinic. The division takes part in numerous multidisciplinary conferences and provides dedicated teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows.
