2nd Annual Department of Radiology Quality & Safety Forum
On June 3, 2015, the 2nd Annual Department of Radiology Quality & Safety Forum was held in the Pavilion A Lobby. The Forum featured seven Quality Improvement poster projects from the Department of Radiology. With the help of UKHC OVIHD, all of the posters used the 8-step problem solving process.
The Office of Dr. Bernard Boulanger provided snacks and refreshments for attendees.
Competition
Four of the seven Team Quality Improvement projects were led by Resident Physicians with Technologists and Faculty Physicians. These projects were judged by a secret panel.
Dr. Aurora Luna’s (R4) poster “Adjusting the Magnetic Field for Improved Dynamic Breast MRI was selected as the winning project. As part of the distinction, Dr. Luna will present her poster at Quarterly Report on Quality in September.
Dr. Luna’s team was comprised of Brittany Theinert, RT; Cindy Douglass, RT; Peter Hardy, PhD; and Margaret Szabunio, MD.
Showcase
The other three Quality Improvement posters were developed by the Pediatric Radiology Team as part of the Limiting Ionizing Radiation in Children (LIRIC) Initiative. The projects were spearheaded by Pediatric Radiology Division Chief Johanne E Dillon, MD.
