Scholarship and Activity
Our pediatric residency program is committed to supporting resident engagement in quality improvement (QI), quality assurance (QA), and scholarly activities. In addition to providing mentorship and resources for QI/QA projects, we have established a dedicated Scholarly Oversight Committee that residents may voluntarily utilize to receive guidance, mentorship, and project support. This committee is designed to create a more structured environment that fosters scholarly engagement for trainees who are interested in pursuing research or other academic endeavors. While scholarly productivity beyond participation in QI activities is not required under ACGME guidelines, we recognize growing resident interest and aim to provide meaningful opportunities for academic development. Scholarly activity may include, but is not limited to, basic, clinical, and translational biomedical research; health services research; quality improvement; bioethics; medical education; and public policy initiatives.
Each program--whether it be Categorical Pediatrics, Med-Peds, Triple Board, or Child Neurology--has built-in individualized tracks catered to your future plans. Our Electives and Subspecialty electives are designed to prepare each resident for their specific educational interests and we have a broad-based spectrum from which to choose:

Academic Half Day
Our residency program has introduced a dedicated Academic Half Day, providing residents with protected time for interactive learning, evidence-based discussions, board preparation, and professional development. In addition, we have implemented a longitudinal simulation curriculum that offers hands-on training in high-acuity and low-frequency pediatric scenarios, procedural skills, teamwork, and communication. Together, these enhancements strengthen our commitment to delivering an innovative, engaging, and comprehensive educational experience that prepares residents for excellence in pediatric practice.
