Vitreoretinal Fellowship Programs
Medical Retina Fellowship
The fellowship takes place in our state-of-the-art clinic in the retina, uveitis, and ophthalmic-genetics services with the supervision and training of eight full-time faculty members. An optional perk of our program is to allow the fellow to do cataract surgery two days per month with one of our faculty members. The fellow will also have the opportunity to teach our residents and medical students in the clinic or lectures. A significant amount of research opportunities are available in retinal imaging, uveitis, and inherited eye diseases.
Surgical Retina Fellowship
The fellowship in retinal and vitreous diseases will provide an advanced level of competence in the diagnosis and management of medical and surgical retina and vitreous diseases. The fellow will attend certain Grand Rounds, give lectures at the University of Kentucky, and may be asked to supervise or participate in rounds to varying degrees. A portion of the time will be allocated for research activity, and depending upon the needs and desires of the faculty and the fellow, other outside rotations may be arranged.
