Research

Our departmental research programs are focused on creating a common home for the development, growth, and sustenance of productive and established investigators in the basic and translational sciences focused on highly-specialized fields in ophthalmology, vision research, vascular biology, inflammation, and immunity. Many of our faculty members are participating in clinical trials, device innovation, drug development, and pre-clinical studies.

This expanding research program is bustling with PhD candidates, post-doctoral fellows, medical and graduate students, and a select few talented undergraduate and high-school students from all over the world. In this time of economic strain with competition for funding reaching new heights, we continue to strive to meet this challenge at UK with the hope that our research will make an impact on those suffering from blinding diseases and the physicians who treat them.
