Resident Research Opportunities
Residents are required to participate in both a quality improvement and research project each year of training, although longitudinal projects are also encouraged. The research curriculum is a mentored process including milestones throughout the year that culminate in a presentation at the annual Resident Research Day at the end of each academic year. Residents are encouraged to submit their research to local and national meetings and afforded opportunities to present when accepted.
Opportunities exist for both clinical and laboratory research projects. Residents have flexibility during the 1.5 month consult block during the 1st and 2nd year or the 1.5 month elective block during the 3rd year to dedicate to research if they choose.
