About KCH
Kentucky Children's Hospital (KCH) is a comprehensive, multispecialty pediatric health care center providing compassionate inpatient and outpatient care to children in the Commonwealth. The hospital serves as the subspecialty regional referral and pediatric care center for central and eastern Kentucky.
Medical students, residents, and fellows benefit from training alongside experienced pediatricians, pediatric nurses, respiratory therapists, dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists who are dedicated to caring for pediatric patients. Learners gain experience at KCH's multiple clinics across Lexington, Ky., as well as the Makenna David Pediatric Emergency Center, a 24-hour pediatric emergency and Level 1 trauma care center.
Research at KCH
At the Kentucky Children’s Hospital Office of Pediatric Research, our physicians and scientists use research to better understand pediatric disease, develop innovative treatments and discover medical breakthroughs. Our research means that we collect and examine information about each patient we care for through review of data, surveys, interviews, observational studies, clinical trials and more. Our physicians use this information to provide real-world solutions to problems that affect kids in Kentucky and around the world. Read more here.
