It is my pleasure to welcome you to the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We are proud to have a growing department of physicians, scientists, advanced practice care providers, and trainees who are highly committed to advancing the reproductive health of Kentuckians through clinical care, research, and education.

Our OBGYN program was recently ranked No. 21 in the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals survey - up from No. 40. Our department enjoys a productive research program with more than $15 million in federal funding. We are committed to educating future leaders in OBGYN. Medical students participate in a variety of clinical experiences during their OB/GYN clinical rotations. Our Morehead Women’s Health clinic hosts medical students through the UK College of Medicine Rural Physician Leadership Program, providing students with the opportunity to provide high quality, compassionate care in rural settings. Our Georgetown Women’s Health Clinic also provides training opportunities, hosting third year clinical rotations, and fourth year acting interns.  We have a robust ACGME accredited residency program which trains 5 residents per year. We also house sub-specialty fellowship training programs in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Gynecologic Oncology.

Our OBGYN providers offer on-site care at numerous locations in Lexington, Georgetown and Morehead Kentucky, including midwifery services. We are home to one of the busiest gynecologic oncology divisions in the country. The division’s Ovarian Cancer Screening Program and outreach telehealth services increase state-of-the-art access to high-quality subspecialty care throughout the Commonwealth. The Kentucky Angels telehealth program provides access throughout the state to high-risk obstetric care through our Maternal-Fetal Medicine division. Our Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) Division is the first in the Commonwealth to offer the innovative Sonata® Treatment, an incisionless procedure for uterine fibroids, and the Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) Division is home to the only two board-certified practicing Urogynecologists in Lexington.

I invite you to learn more about the exceptional services and opportunities provided by our department as you view more details in our division-specific pages.
