The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health Student Services office held a graduation luncheon in recognition of the Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Class of 2014.  The students will graduate in December with a Bachelor of Health Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science.

“We are proud of your accomplishments, and we recognize the importance of the role each of you will play as part of the healthcare team,” said Dr. Fran Feltner, UKCERH director.

As medical laboratory scientists, these graduates will have the opportunity to work in the clinical lab setting, pursue careers in research, sales, or education, or apply to professional programs such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant, or veterinary school.

The UK MLS program is an 18-month long bachelor’s degree program.  Students can complete the degree entirely at the UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health in Hazard.  For more information about the program, contact LeeAnn Helton, Student Services Director, at leeann.helton@uky.edu.
