Joint Venture, First of its Kind

The University of Kentucky (UK) North Fork Valley Community Health Center (NFVCHC) is a joint venture between the UK College of Medicine and the North Fork Valley Community Health Center board. It is the first community health center in Kentucky to be affiliated with a university and family medicine residency training program. The clinic and the East Kentucky Family Medicine Residency Program are located in Hazard, KY, at the UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health (UK CERH).

Dr. Douthitt, Medical Director at NFVCHC, and Dr. Atkins, Residency Program Director at NFVCHC, serve on the UK CERH research team. Each brings a unique healthcare perspective to the research team with their vast experience and expertise.
