Working to Identify Needs and Resources Within the Community
The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health’s (UK CERH) staff and faculty are actively involved in local communities and aim to assist community projects in moving forward. Through outreach efforts, UK CERH works to identify needs within the community and, if possible, help locate needed resources. Education and skill building opportunities are provided through trainings and conferences held throughout the state. Partnerships have also been developed which allow us to bring leadership development programs to adults and youth within our rural communities. Employees also serve on numerous boards and communities with areas of focus ranging from academics, policy work, research and economic development. UK CERH actively partners with other agencies, coalitions, and individuals with similar missions to identify more efficient and effective ways of addressing health care for rural Kentuckians.
A complete list of outreach and engagement activities can be located in our Annual Report.
