Health Career Summer Enrichment Camp

The University of Kentucky Center of Excellence in Rural Health (UK CERH) and the Southeast Kentucky Area Health Education Center (AHEC) in conjunction with Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College and UK College of Medicine host an annual Health Career Summer Enrichment Camp held at the UK CERH in Hazard. The mission of the enrichment camp is to provide a unique learning opportunity to motivate, encourage, and spark an interest in a student to further their education and pursue a career in the ever-growing and advancing field of healthcare. The camp introduces incoming freshman and sophomore high school students to a variety of health careers. Students will have the opportunity to observe and shadow healthcare professionals at work; participate in a variety of hands-on activities; tour the University of Kentucky campus; visit the UK CERH Gross Anatomy Lab; and participate in numerous education opportunities which will better prepare them for a healthcare career.
