The UK CERH recently began a new affiliation with the University Center of the Mountains (UCM), a higher education center located on the campus of Hazard Community and Technical College. This new partnership will enable UK CERH student services representatives LeeAnn Helton and Jessica Williamson to have an office within the UCM where they will be conveniently accessible to students who may be considering a degree in social work, medical lab science or physical therapy. A close working relationship between the UCM and the UK CERH enhances communication between advisors in both locations to provide transfer-bound students with the best information possible to guide them in the pursuit of higher education. The UK CERH is excited to be an active partner in several UCM-hosted workshops that are currently being planned for students later this fall and next spring. Professional development opportunities for faculty and staff are also offered on a regular basis. To learn more about the upcoming workshops, as well as other UCM student services, including advising/planning, career planning, financial aid planning, admissions application assistance, proctoring services, tutoring assistance, study space, computer access and additional programs that support their transfer students such as Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Prep workshops or PRAXIS exam workshops, contact the UCM at 487-3812 or visit www.ucmky.net.
