An information session regarding Kentucky’s Health Benefit Exchange (Kynect), was held in Paducah, Kentucky on Thursday, November 7th, 2013 at the Emerging Technology Center on the West Kentucky Community and Technical College Campus. The event was hosted by the Kentucky Office of Rural Health, Purchase Area AHEC, Western Kentucky Rural Healthcare Network and the UK Center of Excellence in Rural Health.

Eighty participants from the Western part of the state came to learn more about Kynect. Chandra Venettozzi and Brenda Parker from the Health Benefit Exchange presented an overview of Kynect and fielded many questions from the group. This session had a targeted audience of health care providers, administrators, board of directors, community agencies, coalitions, navigators, mid-level managers, front-line staff and other healthcare workers. The goal was to have people leave with a greater knowledge and understanding of Kentucky’s Health Benefit Exchange.

The Kentucky Office of Rural Health along with the Center of Excellence in Rural Health hopes to host more of these sessions across the commonwealth. If you would like more information on upcoming sessions, please contact Kayla Combs at the Kentucky Office of Rural Health, she can be reached by email at kayla.combs2@uky.edu
