Surgery Department Fun

To wrap up Leadership Week, October 29-November 2, UK Healthcare hosted an ice cream social followed by a thoroughly entertaining, often hilarious, talent contest. Like the TV show, American Idol, judges critiqued the talent, but the final vote was left to the audience. The Surgery Department was well represented.

Photos to the right start with Paul Kearney, MD (Trauma/Critical Care Section), one of the judges, scratching his head in wonderment.

Mark Bonnell, MD (CT Division) triumphantly won first place for a flawless piano rendition of Chopin’sPosthumous Etude in A Flat Major.

Jay Zwischenberger, MD, Chairman of the Department, and Carl Hatmaker, Sr. Health Data Analyst in the General Surgery Division, won second place for a rollicking performance of Mary Jane’s Last Dance andSweet Home Chicago.
