Throughout his career, Singh has combined clinical practice with leadership, research, and surgical education. At UPMC, he chaired the Endovascular Credentialing Committee, served on the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Admissions Committee and was associate program director for the integrated vascular surgery residency and fellowship programs. Nationally, he serves as an examiner for the American Board of Surgery Vascular Surgery Certifying Examination.

Education and mentorship have been consistent themes throughout Singh’s career. Before joining UK, he held faculty appointments at the University of Massachusetts, the University of Rochester, and the University of Pittsburgh. His commitment to surgical education has been recognized with numerous teaching awards, including the 2026 Henry T. Bahnson University of Pittsburgh Education Award and Teacher of the Year.
Singh earned his medical degree and general surgery residency from the State University of New York at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and his vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He later earned an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. In his new role, Singh will help lead the continued growth of vascular and endovascular surgery at UK HealthCare, with a focus on expanding access to advanced vascular care, strengthening multidisciplinary collaboration, advancing clinical research and innovation, and educating the next generation of vascular surgeons.
“I am honored to join the University of Kentucky and excited about the opportunity to build on the excellent vascular care already being provided here. Our goal is to develop a comprehensive vascular program that provides high-quality, cost-effective care and bring innovative therapies to patients throughout Kentucky, while advancing research and training the next generation of outstanding vascular surgeons,” Singh commented.
