Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?

I chose the University of Kentucky because I had received great training here as a medical student, and as I saw how the residents of the family medicine residency program were learning and growing as physicians on each rotation, I knew I wanted the same for myself. I was fortunate enough to have already had a chance to work with the faculty from my time as a medical student and was confident that I would be well prepared to practice as a family physician in both inpatient and outpatient settings after completing residency here at UK.

What do you like about your program?

The most important qualities to me in my program are the close relationships between residents, the attentive faculty who care about me and my development as a family physician, and the opportunities afforded by being at a large academic institution to work in diverse settings. Being a Kentucky resident myself, I also appreciate being able to see a diverse patient population, largely consisting of people from a more rural background like the one I am from in addition to those from a more urban/suburban area where the program is based.

What are your hobbies?

Spending time with wife and kids, reading (history, legal thrillers), tennis, golf, weightlifting.
