The College of Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine is committed to excellence in medical education through core and elective experiences.
Overview
The department aims to make a curriculum relevant for students in all career paths including primary care, public health, and other specialties. In alignment with the department's mission of community impact, we have a variety of electives that explore the role of health determinants and health care delivery systems in creating wellness for individuals in the context of their communities. These electives will allow you to work closely with both research and clinical faculty who have a varied scope of practice. Our goal is for you to understand the scope and role of our profession in individual patient care and as part of public health networks.
