Colon and rectal surgery fellows are competitively chosen through the National Residency Match Program (NRMP Program Code#1848060F0). Applicants must have completed a general surgery residency program in an ACGME-accredited institution and be eligible to take, or have taken, the written (qualifying) examination offered by the American Board of Surgery.

All applications should be submitted through Electronic Residency Applications Services (ERAS Program ID#0602000049). Completed applications are reviewed by the division faculty, and qualified applicants are given the opportunity to interview. Program faculty have completed Unconscious Bias training as well as continued faculty development in the topics of mitigating bias in recruitment. Interviews take place in early fall of each year.
