Join the UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging for the 14th Annual Markesbery Symposium on Aging and Dementia. 

Researchers will come together to share current research findings and the latest updates on dementia, particularly as related to Alzheimer's disease and healthy brain aging. The event is free and open to the public; however, you must register to attend.

This year's keynote speaker will be Charles DeCarli, MD, Distinguished Professor of Neurology, and Co-Director of the University of California, Davis Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.  His talk will be: “Systemic inflammation, endothelial injury, and extracellular vesicle signaling in cerebrovascular disease."

Lance Johnson, PhD, associate professor of physiology,  will present "Flipping the switch on APOE: AD-relevant effects of E4 replacement with E2" followed by Dr. Erin Abner, Department of Epidemiology & Environmental Health who will share "Decades of discovery: harnessing UK ADRC resources to advance Alzheimer's research, diagnosis, and care."

There will be a poster competition for outstanding work by students (graduate or undergraduate) and postdocs (PhD or MD trainees/fellows).  The abstract submission deadline is September 9th. Please submit to Charlotte Wood at charlotte.wood@uky.edu.
