Donor Opportunities
The Sanders-Brown Center on Aging at the University of Kentucky is a place of hope for families facing Alzheimer’s and dementia. Our experts are working to find earlier ways to detect these diseases, better ways to treat them, and real ways to help people hold on to their memories and their independence. We care not only for our research participants, but for the loved ones walking beside them—offering support, education, and compassion every step of the way. With your help, we can create a future where more people age with clarity, dignity, and grace. Donate today, advocate with us, or help spread the word—because every step forward brings us closer to a world where “the long goodbye” is a thing of the past.
Help Bring the Harmony Model of Care to More Families
Developed at the University of Kentucky, the Harmony approach improves quality of life for people living with dementia and their caregivers. Through simple, personalized adjustments to the home environment, Harmony helps families create an experience that supports independence, comfort and connection.
Your gift will help bring this model of care to more families across Kentucky and beyond:
- Expanding development of caregiver training resources
- Creating a network of Harmony-certified providers
Improving access to the Harmony program for caregivers in communities where access to care for people with memory problems is challenging.
Patti's Peace
A project of the Marie Smart Family Counseling Alzheimer's Disease Gift Fund.
My amazing mom, Patti, battled this disease for almost 10 years. She passed in February 2020 but not without putting up a fight! She was the most incredible mother, wife, daughter and friend. Everyone who knew her loved her. Her smile and laugh were infectious and she made a friend wherever she went. She is missed every day but we know she is now at peace and no longer suffering.
We aim to raise money so that other families and individuals do not have to endure this incredibly cruel, heart-breaking disease. We want to put these dollars towards research for finding a cure (which we know we will have one day!) and providing resources and support for caregivers and those living with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
