Biography
Before medicine, Kevin O'Connor pursued European history at Penn State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. He then attended Indiana University School of Medicine and subsequently completed his neurology residency and vascular neurology fellowship at the University of Kentucky. Afterward, he joined the Department’s stroke faculty as an Assistant Professor of Neurology. He primarily works with the UK Stroke Service and with the outpatient Kentucky Neuroscience Institute Clinic. He also spends time at Frankfort Regional Medical Center and serves as the Medical Director of the Primary Stroke Center. He is involved in several ongoing clinical trials in stroke care. As a vascular neurologist, his primary area of interest is pediatric stroke. In his overwhelming amount of free time, he enjoys being around both of his wonderful cats, his amazing wife, and occasionally his dog.
