UK Neurology Statement on Community Advancement
Consistent with the mission of the University Kentucky College of Medicine and the wider University of Kentucky community, the department of neurology is dedicated to building our community and strengthening connections internally and externally by focusing on the following key areas:
- Community Engagement: Expand our outreach initiatives, including engaging schools and community organizations, to foster an early interest in medicine and research and provide comprehensive support through service-learning opportunities.
- Research and Advocacy: Champion research initiatives that address health disparities, recruit diverse research participants, and advocate for policies that promote neurological health and well-being for all.
- Educational Excellence: Continued support of our internal, K-12, undergraduate, pre-medical, medical, observership, and trainee programs to ensure future neurologists possess the tools they need to succeed.
As a department, we are dedicated to the preservation of egalitarianism and recognize that all persons have the same fundamental worth and must be afforded the same level of dignity and respect.
