Core Training Opportunities

  • Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies – Gain proficiency in the interpretation of routine and specialized studies, including repetitive nerve stimulation and single-fiber EMG.
     
  • Electroencephalography (EEG) – Develop expertise across the full range of EEG studies, including outpatient, ambulatory, video-EEG monitoring, ICU monitoring, as well as advanced techniques such as electrocorticography, functional mapping, and cortical stimulation.
     
  • Neuromuscular Ultrasound and Polysomnography – Receive additional training in neuromuscular ultrasound, sleep studies, and advanced procedures such as Botulinum toxin injections for dystonia and spasticity.
     
  • Sleep Monitoring- Interpreting sleep studies with hands on in the sleep lab
     
  • Evoked Potentials and Intraoperative Monitoring – Acquire skills in the interpretation of evoked potentials.

Educational Environment

  • Fellows participate in a comprehensive neurophysiology lecture series and attend weekly conferences dedicated to epilepsy, electromyography and neuromuscular disorders, intraoperative monitoring, and sleep medicine.
     
  • Mentorship is provided to support scholarly activity, with ample opportunities for research, presentations, and publications.
     
  • Fellows are encouraged to attend regional, national, and international conferences in the field of clinical neurophysiology.
     

Patient Care Exposure

Fellows will encounter a diverse patient population with neuromuscular and seizure disorders across both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring a wide breadth of experience in neurophysiology testing. We offer exposure to   multidisciplinary care clinic for ALS, CMT, Refractory Epilepsy Neurostimulation and Pediatric Epilepsy.

An optional second year of fellowship training is available in Epilepsy for those who wish to pursue advanced specialization.
