Why did you choose the University of Kentucky?
I choose the University of Kentucky for the natural beauty of Kentucky and the Lexington area, as well as the diversity of patients and training locations. I like that at UK, we have the opportunity to rotate at Chandler, Good Samaritan and the VA hospital. I believe that training at different locations will give me the skills to practice in a wide variety of settings. Lexington is also a great city to live in during training. It's small enough to maintain a community feel, but large enough to have a wide variety of restaurants, breweries, and things to do during free time.
What do you like about your program?
I like the relationship between my co-residents and faculty. Everybody is supportive and has made me feel welcome. I also like the diversity of patients that we get to treat here. Some patients travel from all over the state to be treated at UK, and I've had interesting conversations and connections with lots of the people that I've met.
What are your hobbies?
I love being outdoors and traveling to see new scenery and hiking trails. I also love cooking and trying new restaurants. My goal is to hike all the trails in the area before I finish residency. I also enjoy yoga and exercising.
